Well #2....Let's keep digging deeper!

After raising $5000 in just 55 days to build a well in Honduras, the kids of Calvary have kicked off raising an additional $5000 for a second well!  Last week, Calvary hosted our Summer Camp Vacation Bible School and all week long the kids brought in offerings for the Well Project.  We made the challenge even more interesting by offering up one teacher to be "pie"d in the face for every $100 the kids gave.  And they rose to the challenge.  By the end of the week, piggy banks had been emptied and pounds of change had been counted and the grand total was just over $1000!  On Friday the kids celebrated by creaming ten of their teachers with pie. (FYI - - getting a pie in the face is more disgusting than you would think!).  But the real celebration was knowing that the money that we gave would go directly to providing clean drinking water for children and families.

The theme for our Summer Camp this year was Big Apple Adventure : Where Faith and Life Connect.  Being a part of the Well Project is way that kids can connect their faith with a real life problem.  Not only did the kids bring in their offerings, but they learned about the water crisis that kids face around the world and how they can help organizations like Living Water International bring more than just clean water to children... they also bring hope and the message of Jesus so that kids just like them can experience the love of God.
